Who can join?
Answer 1. Over the years, our business has grown dramatically in large part because our customers tell their families and friends about us who, in turn, tell their families and friends. We created an affiliate program to recognize those ongoing referrals from regular customers - although we are pleased to work with other profit-driven websites to help expand knowledge about neem.
There is no charge to become an affiliate of Neem Tree Farms. Each application will be reviewed on an individual basis and those that do not meet our standards will be refused. Specifically, we will not work with websites that contain objectionable material (totally based on our admittedly subjective opinion) or participate in unsolicited e-mailings.
Except for long-term customers, we do require that affiliates have functioning websites. Customers may contact us directly at vicki@neemtreefarms.com to request links that can be used in their personal emails.

How do I get paid?
We pay commissions of 20% on all products sold. We do not pay commissions on shipping costs because we pay exactly what the Post Office charges us.
Payments are made on the first of the month for all sales from the previous month. We prefer PayPal, but can write you a check if that is more convenient. We also will be delighted to "trade" commissions for products you need for your personal use.

How does it work?
When you post a link to Neem Tree Farms and a visitor from your site clicks through, a cookie is created. When they purchase a product the scripts looks for the cookie and/or tries to match their IP address with your affiliate link.

What can I say about neem?
If you are interested in selling neem, you already know what an incredible herb it is - but it is a little more difficult to tell other people. The FDA strictly limits the sale of products that claim to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. The EPA is even more strict about selling products that claim to repel insects from people or on crops and has fined several companies for making unsubstantiated claims.
The FDA also frowns upon links to overseas websites or sites that make claims that can't be proven. Any use of personal testimonials must be VERY clearly marked as anecdotal information that may not work for everyone.
If your website says anything about neem and its uses, you also must place approved disclaimers on your site.

What if I'm already a distributor?
The affiliate program is totally separate from the distributor program, where you resell products you have paid for and taken possession of. The affiliate program allows people who do not want to make an investment in inventory to be paid for their referrals. Distributors with friends across the country may discover that using the affiliate program to make sales is more effective than purchasing product and reshipping it and they may make that choice on an individual basis.

What about phone, fax and mail order sales?
We'll be glad to pay commissions on all orders as long as you ask your customer to tell us how they found us so we know that you were the source. We're not big enough that the need anything but your name to track the referral so you don't need to worry about them remembering numbers or complicated codes.
