Open Jungle Today!

 In General

Open Yarden this weekend is really going to be Open Jungle! We’ve had nearly 20 inches of rain in the last three weeks – and the lawnmower needs a part that’s coming from New York (one of these months…)

The plants look great though, and they’ll transplant even more easily since the ground is so wet. We’ll have lots of old favorites, but a new one too. A neighbor brought baobab seeds back from a mission trip to Africa and asked me to grow them out. They’re doing beautifully, but the neighbor has moved and I don’t really want them taking up space in the greenhouse. They do much better in cold weather than the literature suggests and should be fine for the long-term in pots because they are dormant during the winter.

This is also the last weekend for candlestick senna seedlings. They’re gorgeous plants but we’ll need to start pulling them before they’re too big to get out of the ground. We have all you could possibly want though! The rest of the list is online at

And if you can’t make open greenhouse, we’ll try to ship what you want. We will need to charge postage and handling (since we’re not selling the plants, we can’t include it in the cost the way we usually do.) Check out the list and email for more information.

Grab May Specials While You Can!

We’ll take May specials down first thing Tuesday morning (for people who read their emails at work), so be sure to take advantage of them while you can!

  • Half-off on NimBioSys, the EPA registered neem oil for gardeners who are putting plants in the ground.
  • And as you get outside yourself, try our Anti-Itch products that amaze even neem fans! It comes in three formulas. (Learn more)
  • Half-off neem soap with citronella– need we say more about why you need this product this time of year? It’s great for dogs too, and it’s actually easier to use a bar on them than liquid shampoo.
  • Half-off Neem for Nailsso your feet will look great when you get to the beach this summer.

June Specials

We have two brand-new products on sale for June:

First, you won’t believe how wonderful neem oil scented with essential extract of basil smells. It all started with a recent Dr. Oz show on basil and how effective its antioxidant compounds were for minimizing age-related damage to skin. We decided to try it out and were totally amazed! (Read more)

Second is our updated neem charcoal mask. You can use it with water, or if you really want a mask, you can mix it with extra-rich neem lotion for dry skin or yogurt for oily skin. (Read more)

Since most of the Neem Team is in the “dry skin” category, we put the extra-rich neem lotion on sale too. It’s a great product all around, but really effective as a carrier for the charcoal scrub.

And the winner is!

Every month we randomly pick a review and raffle off a $100 gift certificate. This month’s winner is Barbara who had this to say about neem personal care products:

After a lifetime of bottles, bottles and more bottles in my bathroom I’m finally down to a bar of Neem soap, a bottle of Neem shampoo, a bottle of Neem conditioner in the shower, and a bottle of Neem Oil lotion on the counter – and my Neem toothpaste in a drawer. My face has never been clearer and skin softer. No more itchy scalp, scratchy skin and dry feet, and no more tons of lotion that don’t really work. I guess when you begin with a good product you can expect good results. I wish they had auto-ship! :)”

We’ll work on auto-ship Barbara and set up your gift certificate to take advantage of it!

Thanks for reading our emails, have a wonderful weekend!
