Free seeds, while quantities last, of our favorite foods for people, pollinators and birds.
Some plants are so easy to grow — and hard to find — that we’re offering free seeds including Everglade Tomatoes, moringa and Daikon Radish (mooli). For the first time online, we’re giving away seeds for the plants we grow for caterpillars, which have very specific dietary requirements.
- Milkweed, the tropical species, although we’re working really hard on growing native species this summer.
- Dill and parsley, both of which are larval food for the black swallowtail
- Candelabra senna is not only a showstopper when it’s in bloom but hosts caterpillars for the giant sulfur butterfly so we almost always have them flitting from flower to flower.
We also have golden cosmos which have naturalized in our yard and are so spectacular that people regularly stop to take photos of them.
