Description
We give away a ton of Everglade tomato (Solanum pimpinellifolium) seeds every year, but people still ask for plants. Now we have them!
Well-rooted seedlings growing in four-inch pots are ready to transplant into the ground or larger pots. These nearly native wild tomatoes are famous for their heat tolerance, thriving where standard tomatoes cook, even if full Florida sun. Huge yields of dime-sized fruit can be used in salads or cooking, but every kid in your neighborhood will want to eat them straight from the bush once they’ve tried them (even kids who don’t usually like fruit will love them). They’ll sprawl as far as you allow them, or train them to climb up a fence or trellis to harvest them more easily. Once you have one Everglade tomato, you’ll have them forever!
