Charcoal may be one of the most used substances in the world. Doctors feed it to people who have eaten poison or taken drug overdoses because it “adsorbs” poisons so they wash away effortlessly. Some people already are using the neem bio-activated charcoal on their teeth, but we thought we could do better!
This neem charcoal toothpowder starts with neem bark charcoal (of course!), but we added baking soda and diatomaceous earth — both proven effective in oral care products. Baking soda has been used for centuries as a whitener.* Diatomaceous earth is packed with bio-available calcium so it helps minimize sensitivity and regenerate teeth.*
We can’t find any clinical evidence that shows clear advantages, but we have dozens of anecdotal reports that the combination helps minimize sensitivity (in fact, you can ask my dental hygienist)!
They also make the toothpowder grayer than flat-out black, which definitely helps first thing in the morning if you’re brushing your teeth before you’re 100% awake! It has no taste or scent so you can use it either alone or with your regular toothpaste. Just put the toothpaste on first and then dip in the neem charcoal toothpowder.
