People with skin issues almost immediately understand why neem lotion is good for their skin — even though they’re often reading scientific literature that reports advantages that the Food and Drug Administration hasn’t yet approved. (See the National Institutes of Health website for reports on neem from around the world.)
Here are a couple of important points about neem lotion that even people with healthy skin should consider:
Neem oil lotion from Neem Tree Farms is made with pure botanical oils. Most “mainstream” lotions are made with petroleum oil, which sits on your skin instead of absorbing into it (which is a good thing unless you want your body filled with petrochemicals). Check the list of ingredients on the lotion in your cabinet – its first two ingredients are probably water and then petroleum of some type.
Our neem lotion is formulated to ensure that each and every ingredient is good for your skin – not just good for how the lotion feels, smells or lasts on a shelf. That means it doesn’t have stuff like sulfates, parabens, phthalates, artificial colors or fragrances.
It’s also packed with packed with antioxidants to help boost your skin’s immune system – which is basically your body’s largest organ. And since neem is composed of long-chain fatty acids, neem lotion soaks in quickly so the benefits are more than skin deep.
From an anti-aging perspective, those antioxidants help combat free radicals that make sun damage even more apparent and break down the collagen that keeps your skin looking tight and healthy.
Ironically, neem is outstanding as an anti-aging product, but it’s also a very effective treatment for non-cystic acne, particularly the combination of neem charcoal soap and extra-rich neem lotion. One of the reasons that so many acne treatments “rebound” is that some products dry skin so much that your body responds by increasing oil production. We’ve seen amazing results with the use of neem charcoal soap (gentle enough that we use it on our aging skin too) followed by neem lotion.
It’s also an outstanding choice for people with itchy skin. While we don’t have FDA approval to treat skin disease, our customers tell us that it works as well as — or even better in some cases — than alternatives their physicians recommend.
