We usually plan on getting neem seeds the first of July because that’s when we can count on getting a couple of thousand of them picked at their prime. Changing weather patterns, however, mean that they’ll be ready in early June this year.
That’s great for most of us, because it gives the neem seedlings another month to grow before we need to worry about protecting them from freezing temperatures.
We don’t have an exact arrival date just yet, but we try and pre-sell neem seeds as many as we can because they are much more likely to germinate the faster they get in the ground. They’re online now but you’ll get an email saying they’re backordered just to remind you to get potting soil ready for them so you can plant them ASAP.
Greenhouse/California Update
We have lots of gorgeous trees still available, but we’re still in a snafu with California. We’ve been inspected — and passed — but still haven’t gotten approval to ship. (And while it’s been difficult for us, we really appreciate the time and money CA officials are spending to make sure they don’t get invasive pests from Florida.)
Fingers are crossed that paperwork comes through quickly!
For other locations, we’re back in stock on everything but betel and we shouldn’t be out for long. We have several hundred plants rooting now so hopefully we won’t sell out again.
May Specials
The critters are definitely out this year with this crazy weather, so we put all our Anti-Itch products
- Anti-Itch Formula in 2 ounce and 8 ounce size are perfect when you get out of the shower, particularly first thing in the morning if you’re planning to be outside. If you forget to wear it, you’ll be amazed at how quickly it soothes the bites you already have. (The quart and gallon bottles aren’t BOGO because they’ve already been discounted significantly for the customers who need to use large amounts.)
- Anti-Itch Spray is a light, lemongrass-scented spray that helps you keep your cool. It’s not our first choice for serious adventurers, but it’s a great option if you’re outside for a couple of hours.
- And don’t forget the product that started this all – the All-Natural Anti-Itch Stick. We promoted it for Earth Day because it’s so safe for our planet but sales keep rolling in!
Open Gardens
We’re back on schedule for next weekend with some really cool new stuff including giant sunflowers, seeds from the most prolific passionflower I’ve ever seen, and lots of bee, butterfly and hummingbird food. We’ll skip July though since the first Saturday is part of a long weekend.
Have a fabulous Memorial Day weekend!
