Description
We’ve been selling neem seeds from Senegal for several years with outstanding results. These are incredibly tough trees—they’ve been growing in the Sahara Desert with almost no attention for decades. ( They’ve reseeded themselves from seeds originally planted before World War II as part of the Indian diaspora during the British Empire.)
A group of Senegalese people, including some of their key political leaders, is working to establish a neem industry in Senegal and across Africa. It’s the ultimate in sustainable economic development. A neem industry based on trees growing in the Sahara could provide stable incomes for people across an impoverished continent while soaking up the gases that fuel climate change. A thriving neem industry in Africa is also a significant benefit for all of us — demand for neem products is growing at a rapid rate, but supplies from India have been stable. Tapping into trees that are already at their peak production can help meet the growing demand for safe and effective biopesticides.
We’ve raised the price on seeds this year to help provide the seed money needed to develop the infrastructure to harvest neem and produce a high-quality neem oil that can be sold in the US and around the world. Dr. Doudou Faye, a native of Senegal with a PhD in entomology from Texas Tech University, is the founder of the Senegal Neem Foundation and our long-time friend. He’s personally directing the harvest and shipment of these seeds so we’re confident that they’ll be viable. (Previous shipments of seeds have sprouted in record time.)
With international shipping, we’re never sure exactly when the seeds will arrive in Florida, but we’re selling them in advance so that once they’re in our hands, we can get them to you as quickly as possible. The phytosanitary statement was obtained and filed the week of May 12, so we’re hopeful that they will be here by the end of this week.
Please read Growing Neem from Seeds when you place your order. It includes very specific directions on potting soil, watering and fertilization that will be important to know before your seeds arrive so you can plant them immediately.

Neem tree farms is excellent company for live plants & seeds. Vicki is very helpful either on phone or by email. I got neem seeds from neem tree farms & these are growing pretty quick. I was thinking it will take a month or more but these seeds started growing in a week. I am so surprised seeing them growing. I got seed from eBay, different states in USA but I was never successful, thanks Vicki providing us extremely good seeds!

We always had good experience with the Neem tree farm. we received the seeds within three days (across the US) in small amount of potting soil mixed (small Ziploc bag) in nice cushioned packaging. I didn’t count but probably about 25 seeds. planted in couple of days. sprouting already (seeing cracks on the soil) in a week time. I was worried with all the fires (bad air quality) going around. but temp at 90 degree seem helped. Actually, I was waiting for “neem sprouts special” but saw these seeds and bought them right away. seem like a good bargain.

Planted the seeds the day after they arrived. I live in the Bay area in California and have experienced an excellent germination rate. The seeds have sprouted within 7-10 days. I received 29 seeds and eleven have sprouted. Every day I am seeing one or two new sprouts and am sure in the end I will have a germination rate of around 80-90%. With Neem it is important to have fresh seeds and sow them ASAP in order to get good germination rate. Excellent seed quality. Thanks.

bought the seeds on August 14th and planted them the same day. There were about 25 seeds in the bag, and now I have 20 4-5 inch plants. The folks at Neem Tree Farms are super easy to work with, and are very friendly and helpful.

I got 50 seeds on Aug 2, 2021. I planted on same day per instructions Not a single seed has sprouted as of as 09 Aug 16, 2021. I will watch another week if they sprout.
Vicki –
Please keep an eye on them, it’s not unheard of them to start germinating weeks after they’ve been planted. Please let us know how they look in two more weeks, we can refund your money or replace the seeds with what we’re harvesting at our farm now.

OK. I will watch for next two weeks. On Aug 30 it will be 28 days or 4 weeks. I will let you know on that day. In case they do not sprout I will greatly appreciate if you replace seeds with what you will be harvesting now as you replied.

As I said before I am letting you know that after 4 weeks of planting not a single seed sprouted. Apparently they were old seeds. Please provide me with seeds of this years harvest from your farms as you yourself suggested. thanks. Please do reply.

I ordered 20 seeds in the last week of July 2021, I received my package in the first week of August. I was pleasantly surprised to find more than 30 seeds. The seeds looked dry, based on my limited knowledge only fresh seeds are viable. Still I went ahead and sowed them immediately. Its been about 45 days and none of the seeds germinated even though I kept my seed container in small DIY greenhouse. I would like to give a try one more time as I have got lot of positive feedback from my gardening community. Please let me know when the fresh seeds are available.

Hi Sandy,
We still have a few seeds from the trees here, we’ll drop them in the mail on Monday. They were fresh when they left here, we promise, but something must happen with shipping to some packages. Thanks for trusting us again!

I would have given 6 stars if I can for the customer service I got from these guys. Vicki is simply amazing!! But you need patience with these seeds. I waited more than 30 days and was almost ready to chuck the soil when I noticed some that just started to sprout. Keep the hope up! As a PSA, please be careful about buying neem plants from other websites such as FGT. They sold me Azadrichta Mejia twice and I had to really use lot of botanical arguments to get my money back. Despite that, they still continue to sell the wrong plant.

Planted the seeds in last week of Sep 2024 within a day of package arrival, it is Nov 3rd, 2024 and the seeds have not sprouted. Maybe the package trip to California which took seven days from 8/20/2024 to 8/27/2024 may have led to drying up of the seeds. I will keep monitoring the pots in which I have planted the seeds.
